About Mycil ointment and how it works

This medicine is used to treat and prevent athlete’s foot, and fungal infections such as Dhobie itch (Jock itch) which affects the groin area. It may also be used in skin conditions where sweating causes skin irritation or tenderness such as prickly heat. This medicine has two main ingredients which work together to fight off fungal infections and skin infections: tolnaftate is an antifungal and benzalkonium chloride is an antiseptic.

This medicine is available as an ointment which is applied onto the affected areas of the skin. You should wash and thoroughly dry the affected areas of skin first before applying this medicine.

You should continue using this medicine for at least one week after the symptoms of the infection have cleared to make sure that the infection does not come back.

Speak to your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or if they get worse during treatment with this medicine.
